USER RESEARCH

The three stakeholders identified were parents, teachers while the primary users were children from the 1st to 12th grade. After understanding the business needs, questionnaires were filled in by some users; telephonic interviews conducted followed by a benchmarking study. Some insights gathered include:
1.  Children have a short attention span. They
require visual stimulation and attractive visual
    design.

3. Parents have the real decision making authority.
The platform needed to cater and include them
    as well.

5. The platform must be extremely easy to use as it
caters to children as young as 6 years old.
2. In order to convince parents to buy a subscription,
they would like to interact with the product
    beforehand.

4. Children want to be able to interact with their
friends and other players on the platform.

6. The platform should move towards filling the gaps
left by the conventional education system in our
    country.
IDEATION + USER FLOW + WIREFRAMING

Leading with insights, several iterations were conducted to create a seamless user flow. Features such as adding a chat screen in the waiting room were toyed with and refined. This was followed by creation of wireframes to detail out use case scenarios.
visual design

Drawing from the existing brand language, the visual design was aimed at taking a fresh approach. The colours and type were friendly, inviting and exciting. The mascot for the brand QT, was an integral part of the visual design working as a guiding element for the children.
SOLUTION HIGHLIGHTS

The entire look and feel of the portal was done keeping in mind that it needed to be attractive and engaging
The user has the option to quiz solo or with friends, wherein they can host a quiz or join an existing one with a code.
Simple but well time interaction animation keeps things interesting and boosts user engagement.
As players wait for others to join, the platform facilitates conversation with a chat and video panel. Furthermore, the host can select a co-host who will have the game controls in case the host has to drop out.
Each question screen has a timer along with the option to chat, video chat with other players and check the scores in the form of a collapsible panel.
The host can pause the game, lock it for new players and invite more players at any stage.
A bank of different question templates were created to appropriately cover different content.
The portal thus designed was also adapted seamlessly to mobile devices.
